Overview of Position:

The Aquatics and Program Coordinator provides key administrative support to Manitoba SwimAbility and is essential for the success of the summer aquatics program. Under the direction of the President of Manitoba SwimAbility, the Aquatics and Program Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Creating programming for the 2018 summer camp
  • Ensuring success of summer camp and instructors by monitoring performance and keeping campers engaged
  • Administration and planning of 2018 Fall Swimming Programs for Winnipeg, Brandon, Dauphin, & Steinbach
  • Administration and assistance with the planning and implementation of 2018 Carman & Portage Summer Swimming Program, and Selkirk Fall Swimming Program
  • Providing organizational feedback and administrative support for multiple aquatics programs to the Board of Directors of Manitoba SwimAbility
  • Assist with 2018 Annual Golf Tournament as required
  • Evaluation and purchasing of program equipment
  • Updating and formalizing the volunteer training protocol, manual, video, and program
  • Other related duties as required


  • Post-secondary degree/diploma, or in progress
  • One-year experience working with youth and volunteers
  • Prior experience working at or coordinating a Summer Camp strongly considered an asset
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and social media platforms
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and use of vehicle is required
  • Current First Aid and CPR C is required
  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check is required
  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate and/or Lifesaving Society Instructor Certificate is an asset
  • Working with youth with special needs would be considered an asset

This is a full-time (36.25 hour/week) position for approximately 18 weeks (April 30 – August 31, 2018). The majority of work hours will be Monday – Friday, although some evenings and weekends may be required.
